Spring time baby! This is the time of year where there’s beautiful sunshine, cool breezes, flowers blooming, and gorgeous Texas sunsets. March brings so many happenings into the studio, I can hardly keep up. I tend to operate with the motto of “just say yes.” While it usually serves me well, we sometimes end up with a crazy schedule like the one coming up! I must say, though, that it keeps me on my toes and out of my comfort zone, which is not all bad. I recently had a great conversation with one of our teachers, Karie, about the idea of the comfort zone. It spurred her to thinking, and she gave us a great new blog. Check it out here, You Are Now Leaving the Comfort Zone.
A few years ago a colleague in the industry started a little something called March Matness. It was simply a way to get people to do more Mat by showcasing Joe Pilates original 34 Mat exercises. These exercises are highlighted in one of only two books every written by Joe, Return to Life Through Contrology. March Matness took off, and now at any given time you can go on any social media outlet and look for #marchmatness and pull up hundreds, if not thousands, of photos of Pilates people doing their Mat! I loved it then and love it now. Mat has always been one of my personal favorites. There is nothing like getting your hardcore sweat on. And all you need is you and a mat. Love me some hardcore authentic Joe Pilates Mat! Join along with us, post photos, tag us in them, or just do your Hundred everyday this month. See you on the mat!
Next up in our crazy busy month ahead is a little something we call Methodology Madness! Oh ya! If you haven’t played with us before let me first say, the competition is stiff and the champion gets quite the prize! Do you have what it takes to be the 2017 Methodology Madness winner? Start brushing up on your Pilates history, games start March 14th! More details are coming!
If that was not enough we will be back at Klyde Warren Park for Pilates in the Park on Tuesday nights at 6PM starting March 21st. We also just set up a community class with the Dallas Farmers Market starting in April, more details soon! AND if all that was not enough we are hosting an event with The American Heart Association this weekend, join me Sunday!
Lastly, phew, we will see my teacher, Alycea Ungaro, back in Dallas March 10-12 for continuing education, and our next Real Pilates Teacher Training program starts March 31st.
See you all in the studio!
